Pasta & Chianti: The Perfect Pairing

Tomato sauce and Chianti. High acid meets high acid. It just works.

Why does Chianti pair with Pasta?

Chianti is made from Sangiovese, and Sangiovese is all about acidity. Tomato sauce is also high acid. Pair a low-acid wine with tomato and the wine tastes flat. Pair Chianti and suddenly both sides come alive. The wine's red cherry and earthy herb notes echo the sauce. Its structure stands up to the cheese.

This is the one pairing where you don't want to overthink it. A weeknight bowl of pasta and a $15 Chianti is dinner done right.
